Knucklas Folk Down The Track changes

From Siggy at Knucklas:

To all Musicians,

Due to the cancellation of two recent Folk Down the Track Trains with no prior warning, numbers attending this event have fallen dramatically. With no guarantee from Arriva trains that it won’t happen again, we have decided to rationalise the Folk Down the track event. Graham Lambert and Les Lumsden will no longer be organising larger groups of people to come to Knucklas – as this has proved to be a nightmare over recent months. They will however, continue to promote the event and encourage individuals to check that the trains are running and make their own way to the Castle Inn. This means that we will no longer be using the function room and will be restricting the music to the bar and the front room (if needed).

Therefore every 3rd Thursday we will be holding a normal Folk Night, which we are now going to call: FOLK NIGHT DOWN THE TRACK starting at 7pm (till late). I am sure it will  continue to be well supported by those living locally and we hope that some people will still come on the train. The music element remains the same –   a fair mixture of tunes and songs that we can all join in!

I want to thank all of you who have supported Folk Down the Track over the last 7 years and hope you will still come to the Castle Inn, Knucklas every 3rd Thursday and support the new format: FNDTT!

There has always – well, as long  as I can remember – been a session every 3rd Thursday, but the heavily attended Folk Down The Track session was bi-monthly. Let’s hope that people from Shrewsbury and elsewhere outside Knucklas and Knighton will still continue to support it every month.
